FAQ - Why are the number of volunteers signed up different than the number of names on the list?
The count that is presented shows you all volunteers that expressed interest. The names that you see presented are only for the ACTIVE volunteers in your system. All users have either an active or inactive status with your organization. When the volunteer's status is inactive they do not show up in your list.
FAQ - What is the difference between "Slots Volunteered" vs. "Unique Volunteers?"
Unique Volunteers shows you the number of individual people that have volunteered. Some may have volunteered for more than one slot.
Slots Volunteered shows you the number of volunteer opportunities or volunteer slots that have been filled. For example, 26 people have signed up for a total of 63 volunteer opportunity slots.
Example:
If you have a "Volunteer Opportunities" Form that has 75 "slots" or "opportunities, and "Slots Volunteered" says 65 - that means 65 of the 75 slots have been filled (even if they are filled by the same person more than once.) If the "Unique Volunteers" for this same form says 27 - that means 27 individual or "unique" people have signed up on the form.
Challenge: Room parents need to send communication to all of the parents in their classroom, but you do not want them to be able to see contact information or sales history.
Solution: Instead of using the volunteer tool, use the newsletter tool.
- Create a newsletter distribution list for each classroom.
- Grant your room parents the following Admin Access: Dashboard, Send Newsletters. Room parents will only be able to see the names and email addresses of the parents in the class and no other contact information.
There are three newsletter templates they can choose from and one of them is a simple email format.
