Contacts moved to an Outdated status based on the Contact Data Expires Date set under Admin > Account Settings > Dates & Times. It is important that this date is updated each year and it can be done as part of the Year End Checklist (Admin > Year End). If anyone moves to Outdated and then reverifies their information before this date was updated, they will not have their Contact Data Expires Date set correctly for the next year.
Scenario #1 - System setting for Data Expires Date not updated, Contact Moves to Outdated and then reverifies their information
Step 1 - Update the Contact Data Expires Date to next year (this will set the new date correctly for contacts that are currently Outdated when they reverify their information)
Step 2 - Update Active contacts (those that have reverified their information since becoming Outdated) with the correct Data Expires Date. This can be done via mass update on the People > Parents screen (filter by Status = Active).
Scenario #2 - System setting for Data Expires Date not updated, Contact Moves to Outdated and has not reverified their information
Only Step 1 is needed - Update the Contact Data Expires Date to next year (this will set the new date correctly for contacts that are currently Outdated when they reverify their information)
Scenario #3 - System setting for Data Expires Date was updated for the new year prior to contacts becoming Outdated
No action required! Contacts will have the Data Expires Date set correctly when the reverify their information.

We also recommend that autosubscribing Communications Lists using status include both Active & Outdated so people don't stop receiving communications during this window.
